Description of Programs

A multidisciplinary group of traditional and non-traditional providers together with parents dedicated to the Vision that children and adolescents with behavioral health needs will have access to a broad array of services that are easily accessibly, family drive, culturally competent, effective, and promote a community without stigma.
Core Values for System of Care

Services should be child centered with the needs of the child and family dictating the types and mix of services provided

Services should be community based, with the locus of services as well as management and decision making responsibility resting at the community level

The System of Care should be culturally competent, with agencies, programs, and services that are responsive to the cultural, racial, and ethnic differences of the population they serve
Activities/Programs Include:

‘Family Fun Day,’ a structured recreational activity for families

A Youth Mentoring Project, launched by the Stamford Mayor’s office and Governor’s Prevention Project

Diversity Lunch Shops to promote awareness of multicultural issues in our community

Fundraisers and activities to promote awareness for Raise the Age, an effort to return 16 and 17 year olds to the juvenile, rather than the adult, justice system

Presentations to educate members about services for young adults making the transition to the adult system of care
