City Kids’ Adventure Club

 

 

The adventures continue this fall… 

City Kids’ Adventures would like to invite campers to continue their adventures throughout the school year.  The Adventure Club will meet two Saturdays per month throughout the school year for those who didn’t get enough this summer.  Join us for rock climbing, ropes course, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, orienteering, and more... 

 

There is no cost for participating, but space is limited and will be available on a first come, first serve basis.  To sign up, contact:

Scheduled Activities:

Saturday, September 20th  
10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Ropes Course Activities @ Scalzi Park for Campers & Parents: 
Come see what your campers were UP to this summer.  Campers and their parents will have an opportunity to help each other into the Bird's Nest, walk the Cat Walk, and find out why the Pamper Pole is so aptly named.

Rock Climbing I
Saturday, October 11th
9 a.m. - 7 p.m.
10 Participants

Join us for a day of leaf peeping and rock climbing/rappeling on St. John's Ledges in Kent, CT.

Hiking
Sunday, October 19th
8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
12 Participants


Climb the highest peak in Connecticut.  We'll hike along the Appalachian Trail to the summit of Bear Mountain.  Learn how to use a map and compass as we navigate our way to fantastic views from the summit overlooking northwestern CT, NY, and MA.

Rock Climbing II
Saturday, November 8th
8:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
10 Participants

For those campers who didn't make it on our trip to Kent or for those who just can't get enough of climbing, we'll venture back up to Farmington and explore new routes on Rattlesnake Rock. 

Mt. Biking/Orienteering
Saturday, November 22nd
9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
10 Participants

This will be a two-part day.  We'll spend the morning Mt. Biking on some local trails.  The afternoon will give campers their first opportunity to try orienteering.  We'll fine tune our map and compass skills trying to find markers on the trails at the Bartlett Arboretum.  Participants are welcome to join us for the morning, afternoon, or both.
