Capital Projects:
-Budgeting
-RFP and contract preparation and review
-Planning and survey design
-Construction management, coordination & inspection
Regulatory Functions:
-Review zoning applications for sub-divisions
-Review Environmental Protection Board permit applications
-Review and issue street opening permits
-Investigate complaints
-Assist other departments with engineering input
-Prepare Federal, State and local permit applications
-Subdivision plan review and subsequent construction supervision
Complaint Response:
-Respond to general public complaints regarding infrastructure
-Respond to drainage complaints from Highways
-Respond to sanitary sewer complaints from Sanitation
-Respond to inquiries from corporation counsel
Engineering Administration:
-Maintain and update land and engineering records, processing correspondence
-Provide the public, contractors and surveyors with the records on sanitary, storm, and roadway which are routinely updated and maintained in the Bureau
-Issue house numbers, Street Opening and Street Use Permits
Support Functions to Administration:
-Prepare annual capital and operating budget requests for approval by Administration/Boards -Attend public hearings
-Prepare and compile capital project easement agreements for Legal department
-Update monthly status reports for capital projects
-Provide assistance to Highways in snow removal operation
-Assist in formulation of the Geographic Information System
