The Internal Affairs Unit investigates police misconduct, municipal corruption and does the background investigations on new employees for the police department.  The unit answers directly to the Chief of Police.  The Complaint Form can be completed by a citizen and mailed in or brought in person.  Depending on the type of citizen complaint the situation may be referred to the officer’s immediate supervisor and not handled directly by the Internal Affairs Unit.
